Why I love the 'Geek Community'

I have had my blog for well over a year now and have immersed myself in the online 'geek' community. I have been interacting with other bloggers, conversing with fellow nerds over film releases and sharing numerous geek themed pictures on Instagram... And I have to say I love it.
I'm a very happy geek!
The geek community seems to be so friendly and everyone takes a keen interest in what each individual shares online. Whether you're a crafty creative who sells homemade nerdy merchandise, a budding cosplayer or someone who just enjoys seeing what others share online, the geek community is the place to be!

I have had so many great experiences at geek themed events
Although I have thankfully not experienced it myself, I know some female geeks have been subject to sexist and derogatory comments online when posting geeky content. However, this seems to be a minority and the rest of the community is so positive, kind and friendly that it doesn't put people off. I have had so many kind and encouraging comments both on my blog and my Instagram account which makes me want to post content more and more, proving that geeks are kind, complimentary and support each other.

The thing I love most about the online geek community is that you can interact with people from different parts of the world and all share the same nerdy hobbies. It's a wonderful opportunity to make friends and learn about other cultures.

Geeks also know how to have fun and don't take themselves too seriously. You can attend comic conventions, gaming events, book signings and more, while meeting a range of interesting geeky individuals.

I love writing this blog and have connected with so many lovely people through doing this. I hope I continue to adore and be included in this community of harmonious geeks for many years to come.

Have you had any particularly positive experiences within geek culture? Let me know in the comments below as I would love to hear your stories.
